Summary
The Designer is responsible designing new concepts and designs for a product category within defined theme and seasons from concept through final delivery. Presents and delivers brand-right designs that tie back to the overall concept and business strategy; encompassing style, color/print and graphic design for new/existing product lines. Researches and interprets fashion trends and consumer needs that uphold the integrity of the product lines/brand.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize and design multiple creative solutions
Assist in the creation and execution of final designs
Create Design Turn Overs (DTO) and finalize artwork for hand-off to the Production Team Order
Review mechanical art work for final design approval prior to release
Support creation of concept and design options for their category/ies
Update design board layouts and printouts, including concept boards
Assist in researching trends and patterns for upcoming seasons
Provide approved designs and design direction to mechanical art team for development of technical specifications
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 4 – 6 years of prior experience in 2D design, Illustration and graphic/product design; package design preferred
Strong sense of design, typography and color plus proven expertise in 2D label or graphic design
Strong level of creativity, conceptualization, execution, organization and design skills
Drawing and computer illustration skills – Strong Illustrator and Photoshop skills are required
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Fundamental experience and/or knowledge of design with photography
Strong fashion sense with ability to translate into graphic design
Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly collaborate design environment
Solid communication and presentation skills
Store visits and/or customer insights focus groups
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Design or equivalent experience
